BEAUTY // NAIL WRAPS

I am such a huge fan of having my nails done, I almost feel naked without even just some nail polish on them! I love trying out new colours, brands and styles. I even ventured out of my comfort zone and tried falsies a few times!

During the festive season I took part in a little christmas fair and met some pretty cool people doing it. One of them was Margaret from Jamberry. I was very intrigued by her stall,  so did some investigating and looked into the nail wraps.

To be honest, I wasn’t totally convinced at first. It seemed like so much effort, and I am all for quick and easy!

The lovely Margaret was kind enough to send me over a wee starter kit so I could test out the wraps for myself, as I did fall in love with so many of the designs.

Now, you are probably wondering, what are they? They are vinyl sheets that are heat activated, so they have no drying time at all and are non-toxic! According to the website the last two weeks on finger nails and four weeks on toe nails.

The style I went for was ‘Dusty Floral’, which is a lovely dark grey with pink flowers.

The Test…

I set up everything I needed at my dressing table and turned on The Theory Of Everything, ready for it to be a mammoth task!

So I started by cutting and filing my nails and then made sure they were clean and dry. Then with the orange stick, I lifted the correct size of wrap off of the sheet and lightly set on my fingers (one at a time!) and then used my hairdryer on them for about 3-5 seconds to heat them up. When they are hot you can stretch out the wrap to fit the nail properly and make sure there are no air bubbles or bumps. Then all you have to do is apply a little pressure, cut off the excess and then file the edges.

It really is that simple!! And look how good they look!!

My thoughts…

To my surprise, it was a really quick and simple process. Once you get the hang of it, they are really easy to use and they do look amazing. This time I opted to paint my ring fingers in the shade ‘Ballerina’ by Barry M, cause I love having one finger different than the rest. The wraps are really versatile, and I just love that they don’t chip! I reckon it depends what you do with your hands on a daily basis, but they do last about 10-14 days. they are also really easy to take off, you can use coconut oil!

Overall, I really rate these nail wraps. They are really simple to use, long lasting and unique. They are also a great price, each sheet is £15 and you can get at least 2-3 manicures out of them, depending if you use them on all your fingers or not. I am also loving all the compliments I am getting on them and I’m so excited to try out some different designs.

So where can you get them from?

I am glad you asked!! You can get them here on her website and you can also find her on Facebook and even join her Facebook group for all the updates and lots of giveaways.

What do you think? Will you give them a try?

  1. I love nail wraps! 🙂 I haven’t ever used Jamberry but I know that they are recommended. I use Scratch wraps (www.goscratch.it) – their wraps are limited edition, gorgeous and they have sales all the time. I was a bit skeptical when I first tried them because I had previously had a cheaper brand that was very thick and didn’t stick on my nails (my nails are a bit curved).

These days nail wraps are a lot thinner so they are easier to apply. I always get compliments on my nails with Scratch 😄 And definitely cheaper than going out for a manicure, and less trouble than actual polish!
