BIRCHBOX // FEBRUARY

So this month I decided to try out a subscription box. I have been toying with the idea for ages, but considering how much I was spending on make up and skin care, it was probably worth trying out a subscription box. After a bit of shopping around and talking with friends that use them, I opted for Birchbox.

February was a great box to start with, how pretty is this box?? The wonderful stationary brand Papier teamed up with Birchbox to create two box designs this month – one this beautiful purple, and the other is green.

With Birchbox you get 5 products to try out each month, with at least one being full sized each month. the best bit? It is only £12.95 a month including postage!!

so, what did I get this month??

KEEOME Hydration Therapy Mask.

This might just have been my favourite product in the box this month. This is a wonderful sheet mask from Korea, the innovators in beauty right now! I had to try this one straight away. The mask was really easy to apply, though I would suggest lying down while wearing it as it kept sliding down my face – there was that much serum in the packet! The serum is made with Mulberries, which are packed full of vitamins A and E.

After a relaxing 25 minutes, my face had never felt so good! The redness on my cheeks had faded and had such a glow to it. It is very pricey to buy, but I would say it was worth every penny. My skin has not looked this good in a long time, and would use these over and over again!!

Beaver Professional Daily Moisture Conditioning Spray.

I am very wary when it comes to new hair products, because my hair seems to disagree with a lot of them. Though, I was excited to try this one. My hair gets really dry this time of year and gets so tuggy to the point it looks like I have dreadlocks at the back of my head!

This spray claims to hydrate hair as well as detangle. To be on the safe side, I tried it out on my day off. I just put a few strays at the bottom my hair while it was damp, combed it through and then styled it as normal. and the best bit? It actually worked!! My hair was so easy to brush while it was wet and once it was dry it was so fluffy and my curls seemed to hold a lot better than normal – even in the wind!! I have only tried it once so far, but I am pleasantly surprised with this. Hopefully it will stay this way and start to hydrated my hair.

Spectrum Collections Marbleous Tulip Eye Contour Brush.

This was like the dream thing to get in a subscription box! I have been obsessing over Spectrum brushes for sooooo long!! This is such a lovely, fluffy brush which is perfect for blending eyeshadows. I am quite simple when it comes to my eye make up, and this is the perfect brush to use when I’m rushing my make up in the morning before work. All I can say is – go get one!!

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse.

now, this one kind of baffled me. I wasn’t so keen on the idea of putting more oil on my skin, but oh my goodness! This stuff is magical! I am still too afraid to put it on my face, but has worked miracles on dry skin on my arms, and I tried it out on the ends of my hair over night and it made such a difference. I don’t know that I would buy it, but it is a nice wee bottle to have on my dressing table.

POP Beauty Bright Up Your Life – Naturally Bare.

This is such a pretty little combo of eye shadow shades. As I said, I am quite simple with my eye make up so this was a great wee addition to my collections. The colours are just beautiful, and are nice and pigmented. I might just have to get myself the full sized palette!

So, that is all for this months box, I am already excited for next months!

You can sign up for Birchbox here!

Let me know in the comments if you have a subscription to Birchbox, or any other boxes you think I should try out.

  1. I didn’t realise Birchbox was so cheap! You got some great products in your box this month too. Love the sound of the hair conditioning spray x

  2. I used to love subscription boxes but fell out of love when I just didn’t use anything I was sent.

It looks like you’ve had a really good box though those products sound really good! I might look into them again soon. Xo

      1. It was so long ago I can’t remember which ones I tried to be honest! I think if I revisited them I’d choose one you have more control over because I definitely see the appeal of getting to try out new products every month xo

        1. Yeah, it is good being able to say your skin and hair type and get products to suit you rather than generic stuff. It is so good, I was spending too much on beauty products! x

  3. I’ve seen these boxes around and have been to and throwing whether I want to sign up for one but after seeing the content and the price it looks really worth it, thank you for sharing 🙂

  4. A friend of mine subscribes to Birch and really looks forward to her monthly treat, I keep toying with the idea but I love the products I am currently using. This does look good though, and a decent way of trying newbies before investing in larger sizes.

  5. I’ve heard mixed things about subscription boxes but always wanted to try them! Heard so many great things about Korean beauty products!

  6. I’ve heard that putting oil on your face can actually moisturise it, which I agree sounds weird because, well, it’s oil. If you end up trying it on your face I hope it works out.

I have tried quite a few subscription boxes over the years but I normally get jewellery ones. I haven’t been interested in skincare or makeup ones because I tend to get picky with my products. My mum works in cosmetics so she usually gives me the products I need for my skincare routine. But definitely agree that Korea has a lot of very good quality products that actually work 😄

    1. Oh I had no idea you could get jewellery subscription boxes, thats such a good idea!! Thats good you can get the products you love from your mum. The Korean sheet mask worked wonders on my skin! x

  7. I’ve never tried a Birchbox – but the idea of getting a spectrum brush might just tempt me! I do think that there are better boxes for the same price though 🙂
