FOOD // THE FLOUR POT BAKERY

Now that I am finally over the holiday blues, I can finally talk about my trip away without feeling sad that I am back to normal life!

If you didn’t see on my Instagram, I spent a few days down in Brighton for a much needed holiday. It was my first trip down and I totally adored it. One of the places I knew I had to visit was the Flour Pot Bakery. I have been stalking their Instagram for so long and was very excited to finally visit.

On Monday morning, after a lovely weekend in the countryside, we headed into Brighton for a day of exploring. It was the strangest thing because I had never been but felt like I knew it well as I’ve watched so many vlogs filmed in Brighton.

The Flour Pot Bakery was our first stop of the day for coffee and cake. What I hadn’t realised before hand was that the use the same coffee, Caravan, as we do in the coffee shop I work in, so that was a pleasant surprise.

They had a great selection of sandwiches, breads and of course cakes. It was so hard to make a decision as they all just looked amazing, I must of stared at the counter for a good 5 minutes! In the end we opted for the Salted Caramel Popcorn Cake and the Flourless Chocolate Cake, as well as a oat milk flat white and a long black.
It was packed inside so we grabbed a seat outside and watched the world go by.

Both cakes were so so so tasty and such great value for money too. The popcorn cake had caramel in the middle which was a nice wee surprise and the flourless cake was the best cake I’ve had in a long time. Of course I may be biased, but the coffee was also just perfect. Just what was needed after a few days of drinking instant coffee!

The service was also great, although a tad on the slow side. Overall, I was very happy with everything and glad that it didn’t fail my expectations after waiting so long to go visit them!

If you are in Brighton then you have to pop in, you can find them on 40 Sydney Street.
