SUNSHINE ON LEITH

On Monday I found myself with a free afternoon and some sunshine, so I grabbed my new bus pass and went exploring my beautiful city!

For someone that has lived in Edinburgh for over 4 years now, I am ashamed to admit I haven’t explored as much as I should have. The place I had to go in the sunshine had to be Leith…

I started off on Princes Street with a glorious view of the castle while I waited on the swanky new 22 bus to take me on my adventure.

Now it wouldn’t be a trip to Leith without visiting the Shore….

And down by the shore, you can find my favourite cake shop, Mimi’s Bakehouse…

I just love all the street art hidden away in side streets…

It would’t be a visit down to Leith without heading to Ocean Terminal to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia and to take in the views…

And on the walk home I came across some interesting places…

On Leith Walk you can find the Edinburgh Remakery, a very cool social enterprise…

But it was time to head back to the City Centre and get home…

“While I’m worth my room on this earth
I will be with you
While the Chief, puts sunshine on Leith
I’ll thank Him for His work
And your birth and my birth…”

Hope you enjoyed my adventure in Leith. Have you ever been? Did I miss anywhere you think I should check out?

  1. The first time I visited anywhere in the UK was last year (I went to Liverpool and London). I was fascinated by the history and the interesting things that you find in the UK. Australia is nothing like that – it’s a very young country in comparison, and when you live there everything just looks modern and pretty boring. 😜 Leith looks like an interesting place – I especially love those water views!

    • Oh im glad you loved it! Leith is just such a fantastic place, will be there more often now! I’ve always lived in the west end so it was good to go visit Leith! Oh yes, lets meet up and explore! x

  2. I’m a Leither and your photos are lovely! Just now Leith Links is looking beautiful as all the crocuses are in bloom. That would also make a great photo in the sunshine.
