My goals for May 2019.

Well 2019 is already flying by and I feel like I haven’t achieved as much as I would have liked by this point. So, to keep myself a little more accountable, I am going to share my monthly goals with you all.

I think the best way to get stuff done is to not overwhelm yourself with massive goals for the year but create smaller goals that are manageable each month. Each month I am going to set between 3 and 5 goals that hopefully I can stick to and feel like I am getting somewhere with them.

If you follow me on instagram I am sure you may know that I have decided to set up my own business. I have dreamed about owning a business for as long as I can remember and this is the year I am determined to make my dream a reality. A lot of my goals now are going to be business focused, but I am also on a mission to be a happier person this year!

1.Go to the gym 5 days a week.

Going to the gym for me is just as good as therapy. As soon as I start lifting weights I feel so calm and all the worries disappear, so to keep up the happiness I am going to get back into a routine where I go to the gym at least 5 days a week. It makes a huge difference to my mind and my body confidence, plus there will be the added bonus of losing the extra weight that has just creeped up on me!

2. Cut down screen time.

I think I have an instagram addiction. I spend an embarrassingly long amount of time on that app and it is not doing me any good. I mean, I love the friendships it has created and I love taking photos, but the endless scrolling is not okay. It is bad for your mental health and your thumbs! As I write this, I have spent an average of 5 hours & 14 minutes on my phone every day in the past week and 14 hours and 55 minutes on Instagram over 7 days. That is so not okay. So, the plan is to put my phone away more. I am going to get myself an alarm clock so I can keep my phone in another room while I sleep.

3. Start writing a business plan.

This is it, this month I am actually going to start writing a business plan. I have a rough idea of what I want to be doing, but I really need just need to dedicate some time to sit and get all my ideas out of my head and on to paper. Even if it is just the first few pages, this month I will have some sort of business plan started.

4. Do my Intermediate Coffee Roasting course.

I am super excited to move onto the next level of coffee roasting. I completed the foundation level back in January and had the best time. I loved learning all about the roasting process and more about green coffee. I have spent the past few years training as a barista so it was really cool to go right back to the very start of the process and begin to learn about roasting coffee beans. I think the plan is to do the 2 day course in May, so hopefully be the end of the month I will have a shiny new certificate!

Next month I will let you all know how I got on and make some new goals for June! Let me know what you guys are all planning on getting up to!
